Appel à contribution. Session Crime and Gender 1500-1900: New Perspectives.

Annual Conference of the Social Science History Association

Chicago, IL 21-24 November 2013.

The organizers of the Session Crime and Gender 1500-1900: New Perspectives in the Criminal Justice/Legal History Network, invite proposals for papers presented at the Annual Conference of the Social Science History Association in Chicago.

The Criminal Justice/Legal History Network is part of the Social Science History Association (SSHA) and the European Social Science History Conference (ESSHC). It is made up of historians, sociologists, economists, criminologists, geographers, lawyers, and other academics and independent scholars who are interested in the history of crime, policing and the law. Members include both scholars focusing on statistics and those exploring the meanings of historical developments.

We are looking for papers that present new perspectives on crime and gender between 1500 and 1900. We are particularly interested in broad questions regarding recorded male and female crime in a historical, global, comparative or long term perspective.

Paper proposal deadline: 20 January 2013
